Adjustable seat

Yesterday finally got my 650 and took it for a 400km ride. Otherwise Baby-Strom felt perfect, but even for a short bloke like me (175cm) the distance between seat and footpegs seemed a bit too short. My previous bike was a Yammie 600cc Tenere so of course this has something to do with feeling (first impression when testing dealer's demo-650: "what? this low?"). Guess it'll be some seat modification next winter (yes, I know 1000 seat fits but I guess there isn't a 1000-Strommie rider over here in Finland that'll swap seats...).

Adjustable seat would solve many problems and allow riders with different heights to use the bike. For example Honda's new CBF600 has a clever system that doesn't seem to be too expensive to manufacture even for a low-cost bike.

Dear Suzuki,

I would like a centerstand as standard equipment as I remember it on my '74 GT380 and '80 GS750. More color choices are always good as well (at least one bright one at all times). Please make the speedometers accurate please, not 10% low.

I'd like a nicer exhaust note. Not overly loud, but sporty.

Many riders have raised the front fork tubes on the DL1000 to gain better stability in crosswinds. You might look at that, and see if you can dial in a bit more stability right from the factory.

Give us a brake light kit for the factory luggage topcase please. Givi has this, Kappa should too. It is a great safety enhancement.

TOOLKIT - How about tossing in the wrenches needed to adjust the mirrors. And maybe a real 8mm wrench instead of that flimsy thing that I found in my toolkit. I must admit though, It does a really nice job of rounding the heads on bolts without actually moving them.

CENTERSTAND - When did you start selling street motorcycles without centerstands? Come on guys.....I had to have my dealer install the Motech before I would accept my new bike because (according to my "dealer") Suzuki does not supply a centerstand for the 650. Get with it Suzuki!

Twisted throttle has a kappa brake light kit available,about $50 I think.

The very first thing I would like is a better way to set the clock. Pushing both the buttons at the same time just doesn't work for me. I finally get the numbers to flash but what a chore. Any easier way?

Also, why does the ignition have to be on? Turn on the key and the fuel pump primes the injectors, then if you "miss" the two button push and end up just sitting and waiting, you are using up battery power, then you have to turn the key off and then on again and the pumps start up and now you have to much gas. Hard to start.

Next thing, a real helmet lock. Please

How about a dual exhaust setup? This would keep the symetry of the bike and they could be made of a light weight material, a skid plate and hand guards. Better horn, lights are perfect the way they are.

Finally, junk the trailwings. I find they can slip very easily when on painted markings such as crosswalk squares etc. I'm usinf Maxxis Presa Detours and what a difference.

That's all I have. The rest of the bike is real fine to me.

Get with it Suzuki!Thats odd, I've got an OEM centerstand on my 650 ( '07 ) and it works real good too.
