Hey guys, weather withstanding I'm going to be renting a Honda ST 1300 in a town near Knoxville called Kodak for one day of riding this Friday. If ir rains, I'll hang around for Saturday.

So let's say two days. :D

I need to do the Dragon for the been there T Shirt. Any other advice?

Thanks!

How do you intend to get to Deal's Gap from where you will be?

The Cherohala Skyway is an awesome road and should be ridden while up there.

There are so many great roads for riding in that area, it's really hard to single them out, so I won't.

Highway 64, between Franklin and Brevard.

Highway 178 from Rosman, NC to Pickens, SC.

Highway 107 from Cashiers.

Highway 28.

Highway 68 - runs through Tellico Plains - either north or south - great road.

Like I said there are just so many roads and never enough time!

Enjoy! I'm taking the Strom up there in October!

Hey thanks fellas! I'm going to gamble against a sketchy weather forecast. The Hondasicle rental place is outside of Knoxville.

I'm flying to Greensboro, driving to Knox and riding bicycle for most of the weekend after this adventure.

fl_strom is right about the available free time. Two wheeling, motorized or not eats up most of those two weeks of vacation fast.

I'll take a lot of good pix, hopefully.

Gee I just got back! :D That was serious fun fellas. Can't say I've ever had a better day. I went 270 miles got in The Dragon, Cherahola (sp) Skyway, that Hwy 28 to Franklin out and back (which Charlie told me about) that one is a not miss. I think I made 3000 turns  :D The St 1300 is an awesome bike. Hey I scraped my right boot twice!!

My next bike will have an motorized adjustable winshield and ABS for sure.

What a luxury those are.

I saw a couple V stroms out there. Both of them were 650s. Not many HDs out there. Lots of Goldwings and Eurobikes.

I wish I had another week to spend up there.

Let's see, Yamaha FJR, Honda ST, BMW RT ... I guess you'll be going to Biketoberfest this year to do some demo rides.

What a neat place! Wish I had time for fl_strom's run next month.

If anyone is interested- Here's some bicycle pix from nearby NC.

Got my bike up to 50.7 MPH and grabbed the brakes twice. Those 1 inch tires at 125 PSI scare me at those speeds  :D
