Just a note to introduce myself to the board. I, like alot of others here, just got a DL1000 after several years away from motorcycling.
I grew up riding in southern Cal in the 70's and moved to Everett Wetington where I slowly rusted out of street bikes. I have now moved to Arizona where I have got the itch again. A friend loaned me his 87 concours for the last 6-8 months so I could get hooked.
I got a 2003 V-Strom from Lake Havasu Suzuki in AZ this last weekend and I am happy so far even though the bike may be suffering from the clutch basket shutter. It isn't real bad but is noticable in the 3500-4000 rpm range.
The other thing is the wind screen buffeting needs some attention. I will be interested in anyones advice on solving this. It isn't to bad if I lean forward enough to get my head into the strom (stream on air, hehe) but the upright seating postion is what I liked about this bike. I don't mind the wind hitting me, it just could be cleaner.
Thanks,
