Just got back from another great trip to WVa, but was with a bunch on non-dual-sports... so no dirt roads.

Thinking of going out on the Friday afternoon, camping somewhere (say Watoga State Park - but others to choose from too) and on saturday going exploring some dirt roads. Plenty to choose from. If anyone knows any, great, otherwise I'll just look for some squiggly lines on the map!

Who wants to come?

OK - no takers for thrills and spills in wild West Virginia eh?

What about if I put up a route map? This is a ride I mapped out last year for the Concours group, just picked the gnarliest roads I could find. Probably not particulary suitable for Concours though... not sure how much of it is dirt!

So let's go find out? Here's the map.

Hey Trevor,
I might be game. But maybe only for one day.
You've provided a map for some of the better roads in the area; but if dirt is what you're after, you need look no further than the Monongahela and George Washington National forests. More dirt than you can ride in a week, let alone a weekend. Check out this link for a small glimpse of what this area has to offer. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131244&highlight=West+virginia+camping
Let's stay in touch here. See if we can't get a few more folks interested.

Since we don't seem to have many takers this time around, I've decided to change the date to Sept 1/2/3/4 - does that work any better? Labor Day weekend - don't know if that means it will be tricky to find campsites...

I've put an invitation out to the Concours guys too - so we may end up having 2 routes going, one for Connies and one more "dirty" for Stroms, KLR's and the like.

That means I can go to VIR this weekend too!
