UPDATED AUGUST 13th
I will host the second Stromtrooper.com rally on October 7 and 8th at my place near Clay City, IN which is between Terre Haute and Bloomington.
No Charge, Free Camping, Great Time.
Saturday: Leave my place at 12:00 for a road ride to Bedford to see the "Big Tunnel".
Cookout and get together that evening.
Sunday: The Adventure Ride. Leave my place at 10:00 a.m.
Route: 95% pavement of some sort. Two lane country roads, hilly, curvey, fun. Great scenery, approximately 140 miles. Perfect for all levels of experience.
On your own lunch stop.
I will cook out for anyone that wants to stay over Friday or Saturday night.
Lodging: I have a fantastic place that is perfect for camping. (You can use our house as needed  ) I have a nice steel barn, small attached "cabin" and a couch, spare bedroom, plenty of floor space, etc.
(BTW, you can always stay here as needed, ie if you are on a trip)
There are a few hotels 15 miles away off of I-70 and a great state park (McCormicks Creek) about 20 miles to the east. Terre Haute has many hotels and is 25 miles to the west.
If you attended last years ride, the ride will be more pavement oriented but you will not be dissapointed.
Not limited to V-Stroms by any means. Please spread the word and reply to this thread or e-mail me if you are interested in attending. bkearns@stromtrooper.com

I definitely want to attend, and and would like to get a group of Eastern riders together to make the trip. I am going to post a sticky link in the eastern section for this thread.

Saturday and Sunday is the 7th and 8th, just to try to head off any confusion. I'll be there Sunday, can't wait!

Is this going to be 8-9th (Sunday Monday) or 7-8th?
If it's Saturday/Sunday, I'll be there, maybe.. I have a job the week before, getting home on Friday, but it's never set in stone..
I'd love to be there, and will do what I can to do so.. :o

You say that you've got plenty of floor space? I didn't want to bring the tent if I don't have to, and having a roof over my head will probably be a good thing in October!
Anything I can bring for eats? Salsa & chips?

I will also try to make it. I teach a class in Indy on Sat. mornings, so I might be able to get down there in the afternoon. Or, might try to come down for the day on Sunday. Would love to meet other Stromers.

Just a few ?'s about the rally. Are girlfriends or wives (not both at the same time, obviously) welcome? I (we) will be coming down from NW IN on Saturday and stick around for Sunday. Anything I can do to help?

Everyone and Everything is welcome!
My house is very small, but there is space on the floor and a spare bedroom. For those that like to camp, it's a wonderfull setting.
There are hotels within .5 hour.
McCormicks Creek State Park in Spencer, IN has a great lodge.
Terre Haute has many nice hotels at the 41 and I-70 interchange.
Clay City (closest town to me) has nothing, but a great pizza place, A&W Rootbeer restaurant, 2 gas stations and a few other things.
There is a Howard Johnsons at 59 and I-70 which is about 10 minutes to the north of my place. I am not sure about how clean it is, but I haven't heard anything bad. I will get more info soon.
I estimate Saturday's ride to wrap up by 6:00 Indiana time of course.
I estimate Sunday's ride to wrap up by 4:30, but like last year there is a lunch stop in Spencer and some left towards home then.
It gets dark here around 7:00 p.m. now
I am excited about this gathering. Remember it's very informal. Just a time for us to meet/greet whatever, and do some good, easy riding.
The routes for both days are suitable for all skill levels, any bike that can go on some rough and the occasional gravel roads (alternates will be available) and 2-Up.
Okay, just rambling. Off to the hot tub to relax. I need it.

When, where, and how are we hooking up to ride over? I was planning on leaving "early" Oct 7, in order to make the Saturday ride.

How early? I'm a little further away than you are. I figure it would take me just over 3hrs to make Columbus, and about 4 more to make BKs. Probably about 7.5-8hrs if you figure in stops. Let me know whats up.
Hey BK, can I pick up some shirts while I'm there? (2)XXL and (2)XL.

Can you leave Friday? Fourvalve has Friday off, and was wondering if we could leave then. I am pretty sure that I can take off in the afternoon, and we would be riding in the daylight. Brendan is doing the Sat ride at around noon, so you would have to leave really early to make it to Columbus by lets say.... 7 a.m.
Let me know what you think, I can be flexible. I really hope this crap weather clears up...this rain sucks. I should get my gel seat anyday, and I also ordered a new Givi E360 top case.

Friday would be better, and the ride over would be alot more relaxing. Just let me know where to be.
Got my gel seat yesterday and tried it out today. MUCH better than the stock seat. Still not perfect, but much better. I also modded my topbox mount yesterday so I could fit my tent and sleeping pad on the rear seat. Moved it back approx. 2".
