Buyer beware Arlington Motorsports Texas

First , I believe that we must support our local dealers to insure they can stay in business.

I ordered 2 Suzuki air filters for my 03 Vstrom over the phone from Arlington Motorsports in Arlington Texas, the price I was quoted was $ 47.00. This seemed reasonable because I had purchased an air filter from them in October for 27.00 , I considered this price to be a deal. I waited over three weeks for the filter to come in. When I went to pick up the filters I was told that these were special orders items and the price was 47.69 each. When I protested and asked them why the priced had doubled from my purchase in October their attitude was one of indifference (I’m being polite). I spoke to both he parts manager and the sales manager and nether seemed to care.

Bottom line is I paid 95.38 for two air filters.

I’ll only be screwed once.

Be Warned - Prices Change at time of pick-up - Hayabusa Got ROBBED - Aug 26, 2007
WARNING:

When dealing with this dealership - Make sure you get everything in writing FIRST.

I read some posts about the same thing (You can Google it yourself and read what others say) - But, finally experienced it myself.

I called to get a price on REPLACING my tires on my Hayabusa. The manager told me that it would be around 50-55 dollars if the tires were on my bike.

I bought my OWN tires off the internet and took the FRONT one for them to put on. It cost me $88 (Yes that's EIGHTY EIGHT dollars to replace a front tire!!!). I called 4 other dealerships - And, they laughed at what I was charged. They all said their price was 40-50 dollars for the EXACT same thing.

Plus, I needed a battery - They WANTED to charge me $139.00 for a battery that costs $70 ONLINE. Thats a 100% MARKUP.... (However, the manager was kind-enough to take $39 off making it an even 100 dollars - WOW!).

Also be WARNED - That their HOURLY SHOP RATE IS $110.00 PER HOUR. THE HIGHEST IN D/FW. All others are around $80 per hour.... They use the excuss that their techs are licensed in both Yamaha AND Suzuki. WHO CARES - I Have a SUZUKI - Not a Yamaha - Why should I pay more? Plus, other D/FW dealers have techs licensed in 2 brands (i.e. Honda & Kawasaki, etc...) - And, thye DO NOT charge $110 per HOUR....... BE WARNED.

So, to recap - For them to change my front tire (I SUPPLIED the NEW front tire) - And, to put in a new battery - Cost me $231.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And remember that was with the $39 they already took off......)

My business will go ELSEWHERE for EVERYTHING.

Be warned - Parts are 50% higher than ordering them online with FREE shipping and NO tax. Buy your own parts if you use this dealership - And, make sure you can blow $110.00 PER HOUR for the work....
