Hi,

I was going to either take my 05 DL650 with now 6500 miles on it (bought it about 5 weeks ago with 2900).. to either the Honda dealer in Georgetown (as some have recommended) or try an independent shop to check my Throttle Body Sync. But, I thought I'd check and see if there was anyone in Austin who might be willing to help me. I don't have a manometer (not even sure what it is) but if it's not too pricey.. I'd be happy to pick one up.

Anyone? Or, is it just better to let a professional do it? If so, what is a fair price to pay? ie. how long does it take someone who knows what they're doing?

Bring it by my house and we'll do it. I have a vacuum gauge and a 90 degree screw driver. If you pick up a couple of feet of vacuum line, some couplers and vacuum caps, we'll add extensions to it and make it a five minute job next time.

Thanks! I'd really like to learn to do some of this stuff myself. Questions:

When can you do it?

Where do you live?

Where do I pick up the vacuum line, couplers, and caps?

And, what kind of beer, wine, etc. do you like? ;-)

tomorrow would be great! what time?

will the auto parts store know what I mean if I just say "I need 3 feet of 1.8in tubing with caps, and couplers"?

if you'd rather PM me with the address and time, etc. that'd be cool. I'll just yahoo map it.

Thanks again!

Nice ride kurt1305, I have the same year and color. I haven't seen anyone in Austin yet on a V Strom. Maybe I'll see you on the road some time. You too Skip.

Cheers,

Eric

There are a few Stroms that I know of. Most of them participate either here or at www.twtex.com for more regional non-brand specific stuff. Have I already seen you there?

We got Skip squared away, and he learned to plug a tire to boot! We might have to all have a wrench day soon.

Thanks again Kurt! And muchas gracias for the free, barely used, TW front!
