Over 1500 kms last 3 weeks, Bought slightly used from a friend who just bought the BMW 1200GS...he picked it up yesterday...I will get to try it soon, but I Love my Suzi..now about the 2000-3000 flat spot...into the dealership it goes.

Those rpms are WAY too low to be riding the Strom at. Even at 3500 rpm you want to just gradually roll on throttle. She'll pull decently from 4000 on up - best over 5000. This is not a cruiser bike twin - it is designed to rev. If it pulls fine from 3500 on up, you have no issue.

The only time you should be going through the 2000-3000 rpm range is in low gear, taking off from stand still.
