Not sure if you have "allotments" in the US. Basically its a patch of land you rent from the local council for your own cultivation. Getting to be very popular in this country. I only have a half plot, but its enough for me. Thats about 8 yards by 20 yards. Costs £3.50 a year ( or about $5 ). Lots of exercise digging it over and planting.

Sometimes the whole family comes down to help. I have beans, pea's, potatoes, strawberries, carrots, raspberries, cabbage, brussel sprouts and brocolli, tomato and sunflower growing right now.

That kind of reminds me of "Good Neighbors"
I kept a half acre or so in TX but the growing season is too short to mess with here. Besides, I have a Vstrom.
Good luck, and good eating!

Pashda, I'm a gardener and understand fully your need to spread the word. I've slapped in a picture of one of my Orchids and i'll dig out some of the garden and surrounding landscape of Hertfordshire. And perhaps other Stromers can take pictures of their bit of the world and or gardens, so we can see the kind of lands a Stromer can live in.

While not the same kind of gorgeousnous as the orchid, I am caught up with the hibiscus. A simple to grow and magnificent looking flower.
