I've got a little window of time.. bought an 05 wee-strom and got my luggage all worked out... and want to get away for 3 or 4 days and forget about all my Kawasaki KLR650 warranty woes for a bit and sort out the legal action I'll take.

I'm taking off alone this afternoon, want some nice twisties, regular stops to swim and cool off, and just camp with my hammock along nice rivers or lakes.

Anyone know what direction or route I should start with? I'm leaving this afternoon after a new errands. I could stay in cheap hotels along the way if camping isn't available.

I thought I'd just head out towards 337/Leakey.. but I've already done that route a couple times and was looking for something new. Or maybe since I've already done it on a KLR, it'll be "new" on the strom?

Anyone got a great 3-4 day ride you've mapped out leaving from Austin?

Thanks,

Play spin the bottle. Whatever direction it points when stopped, go that way. Life really is an adventure so wing it and have fun. Ride safe.

skip,

You could pick and choose from 2 different rides I've done this year. First is the the 3 day, 1100 mile dual sport ride to Langtry a couple of us did. Here is the link.

Second is a 2 day ride out and about around Junction, TX.

Both rides included some really fun dual sport roads. Lots of water on both routes, so several opportunities to pull over and go for a swim.
