I got all my chores done by early yesterday afternoon and had permission from the SO to go riding so I lit out for nearby "St. Joe's" Island...
Here's the "Bernt Gilbertson" bridge to the island, as seen from the very picturesque roadside park...

More shots from the park...

Some houses/cottages on a nearby island in Michigan...

Highway 548 circumnavigates the island. There are some nice hilly and twisty sections which are more fun than usual because the trees are very close-in in some sections.

I got off the highway to explore this road, "Sailor's Encampment Drive"...

Back on the mainland, on my way home along Highway 17 I spotted an old road going "nowhere" and came upon this old wreck. I think this area was once the site of an old kiddie attraction called "Dwarf Village" which consisted of a trail through the trees with little houses staged to look like something out of Snow White (I went there once when I was a kid). Sadly, I could find no remains of dwarves or Snow White, just junk scattered throughout the bush.

Here's the Wee resting up before the final dash home...

This was more of a scouting trip; I plan to return to the island this summer when I have more time to get off the main roads and really explore. The Wee's the perfect tool for the job.
