Does anyone have pets? :D This one is the Hurricane Cat that lived in our driveway during some nasty storms so she earned her stripes. A couple weeks ago she puked out some body part of a critter.

Yesterday there was a meeting of all of our furry family members in the kitchen.

That's Freckles the Brittany. The other cats were there at the meeting, too.

The guest of honor played "possum" but I caught his arse and tossed him outside.

I hope his mama still loves him. :D

Hurricane sure has beautiful eyes. Prefer dogs to cats though. A couple German shepherds in my past. If I had one now I would need a sidecar.

Hmm $1700 ?? Looks like that D 70 gets great resolution  :D Love that cat shot and I hate cats :D I have a Canon Rebel XT that would probably thank me a lot if I bought something other than the cheap glass. But that rascal can fire fast.

There's a pelican in St Pete

Thanks water warrior. That cat doesn't shed either  She's fit in pretty well here but I'm like you. I'll take a good ole dawg anytime.

Nice shot, rod!
I have yet to attempt birds in flight.
The rebel and d70 were kinda competitors, no? Nikon and Canon are always going back and forth. But that's why you gotta pic a system you like and stick with it. Bodies come and go but you'll always have your glass. :)

And ya... that d200 doesn't come cheap.
But I'm starting to get paying gigs.... a second body and the xtra features it has would be nice.
If you haven't already and you're interested, check out www.photocamel.com. Some very friendly and talented people there with lots of good info.

We just lost our beloved Huckleberry to cancer a day before our trip ( 5/18 ):

We put his tag on our license plate so he could "tag along" with us:

Thanks. He was my perpetual toddler in a dog suit... we miss him a bunch.

Sorry to hear it - my wife and I are very attached to our mutts & it hurts to lose one. How old was Huck? Looks like a beagle (we have a mixed with a bunch of beagle, she is in the process of excavating the backyard).

Our newest addition - the wife arranged to get him after we lost our 15 year old Cocker Spaniel to a seizure.

We think he might've been a "Bagle" - Bassett and Beagle mix. He was the size of a Bassett but lacked 100% of the features of a Bassett. He was a rescue, so age was estimated at 10-11.
