A friend is re-starting riding after many years. She'll need a winter riding suit. I don't know her exact size, but I'd call it something like small and extra-short ('cuz I'm a guy I know nothing about women's sizing except my wife's complaints about the lack of consistency in sizing).

Any suggestions for brands of moderately priced rain-proof women's riding gear? Gloves, suit or coat & pants, etc.

Check out the closeouts at newnenough.com They usually have some super deals on women's apparel of all sorts. My wife has better gear (at much less cost) than I do because of that.

Joe Rocket are a dependable brand and moderately priced. But nowadays there are many others, made for woment, and some online searching I'm sure will identify them. Newenough.com is a great place to start. If you're more concerned about quality see some of the reviews in webBikeworld.com, too.
