If you're interested in trying a road rally, or getting a feel for what those Iron Butt Rally guys do, without getting an actual sore butt, I'd like to suggest this... Oh, and it's only 13 hours long, so you can even sleep at night.

The rally is held in Monroe, Wi and is put on by the Glacial Lakes MC club out of South Dakota (they like the roads around here, better than out there  )
Anyway, check out the site for every question you've ever had about road rallies.. They're basically a scavenger hunt on a motorcycle.. It's held during the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, so you have a day to ride to and from the rally.
There's only 25 spots left (as of today) and it will fill up, so if you'r interested, get at it ASAP.. I'm rider #11 on the list of riders, and will be there on my 05 Strom.. I rode it last year and won my class (funky) on my KLR650, so as they mention, any bike is up to the challenge.
It's a blast, you'll meet some of the REAL Iron Butt Rally riders, you get fed a couple times, a cool t-shirt, and a great day of riding all over the IL/WI/IA/MN area, and you might take home a trophy..
Rookies are encouraged (because you'll quickly become addicted to more of this type of riding) and you'll also get plenty o' help on what to do, expect, and need to bring..
Either that, or go sit next to a lake, fishing on that weekend.. Which sound fun, too... :D
