Ok, so I think I've kinda narrowed it down to a Richland Ricks GPS bracket (for my 2820). My issue is, where can I put the hockey puck XM 30 antenna?

Anybody got any pics, instructions or advice?

Rick also makes a dash panel.

I don't have the XM antenna for my 2820, but I've been told that it works just fine mounted inside the fairing. I went with the RAM bar mount, which I modified to mount directly on top of the bar clamp.

I just took the regular RAM bar mount and used a rat tale file to bore the holes out into ovals long enough to fit the clamp screws. Then I used some spacers (all they had was chrome, but it doesn't really show, so I'm OK with them) to make sure that the bolts would get full clamping pressure. I probably could have just stacked up some washers, but this looked cleaner. Finally, I just got some slightly longer bolts to replace the original ones, and voila!

I'm using a ram mount on my 7200, I tried gluing the steel mount to my top box, which worked, but the magnet in the xm radio was not strong enough (or there wasn't enough metal in the mount) so it kept falling off. I didn't want to drill holes in my top box. I had tossed it under the windshield, big mistake, worked fine most of the time but scratched the heck out of the shield. Since I put on the two brothers it's useless to try and have audio now so I gave up, but my next try was to put the gxm 30 in the map pocket of a tank bag.
I think I'll be doing the rat tail file thing to the ram mount, I like the looks on warhammers picture.

Thanks everybody. From what I've been told, the antenna has to be open to clear sky for good or best reception. I just got my GPS mount from Rick. I think I'll study this problem for a while before I spend any more money. Besides, the GPS will work just fine without it. The GXM antenna only connects the XM radio and weather features...

Warhammer, got any more pics of your rig zoomed out a bit?

I don't have any more decent pics of the setup right now. I had to leave my Strom in the ER parking lot tonight (long story, even longer night!), so I can't snap some pics right now. I'll get some posted in a day or two.

I guess you could call it the mount for the GPS mount, if you want to split hairs. The GPS mount mounts above it.

I velcro'ed my Sirius antenna to the clutch fluid reservior. I just cut the velcro small enough that it doesn't interfere with with taking the cap off when I need to replace the fluid. Works great.
