Three goals for this weekend
1) Ride AZ 191 from the I-10 to the 1-40. WoW, this road is everything they said it would be & everything I had hoped for. Great sights, awesome corners, danger, fresh snow on the sides of the road as well as in the trees and NO TRAFFIC. It’s a road that just keeps on giving. Just before starting out on this magic thread I stopped at a view site just outside of Clifton, to look at one hell of a large scale mine operation & happened upon 3 riders from COLORADO who told me how lucky I am to live so close to such a great bike road…. I could not help but think to my self, yeah, but what about all the roads you live by in Colorado? But, a few miles later, I knew what they meant.
2) Do a 1k-day on the V-Strom, before the Twist n Shout rally; just to make sure we’re going to get along. (We’re good, stock seat & all).
3) Complete the documentation for an IBA AZ SSSS1K (Same State Saddle Sore 1000) Simple route, slab it to Wilcox, Az, ride the 191 north to the I-40, head west to Flagstaff, down the 17 & cut off to Prescott & down the back side, just to finish off the day with a few more twisties before heading back to Yuma.
Mission Completed.
