Has anyone out there mounted the light kit? How hard/easy was it? Any lessons learned while installing it? I have the kit on order and the instructions only show how to put the kit in the case, not how to wire it so it works! Is there anybody out there that can explain or recommend how to do it?

I put those kits on our bikes. It was not hard. The internal wiring lid-to-body/body-to-mount is easy. The Givi mount has a knockout that accepts the mount-to-body connector which in turn splices into the brake light wires. Someone here can tell you the wire colors. I forget. I was able to reach the brake wire from behind the storage tray under the seat. But, you may have to remove the fender. Again, not difficult - just a few bolts.

Thanks. The Givi website and instructions leave a lot out. Little disappointing for the quality they put out. Will try to documnet the way i do it so if it works I can pass it on, if it doesn't it should make fixing the problem easier!

I can't comment on the GIVI brand lights, but I didn't order them due to bad reviews.
Check out AdMoreLighting.com and look up your top case size. These lights are great!!!
Just a thought in case you change your mind...

I second that. Cancel your order if you can and go with the Admore Lighting kit for the E52 top case. The install is easy and the instructions were clear. Just replace the double sticky tape it comes with with a stronger tape and you are good to go.

Third! Send it back. Chances are the Givi brings only disappointment, the admore only joy.

Fourth! I love my Admore lighting. I have their kit in my E52 and a friend has the factory Givi kit in his E52. It's a Night and day difference in brightness plus the Admore kit includes turn signal functionality in their lights.
Besides, Admore is in Calgary and the OP is in Alberta as well.

edit: I'll admit the Admore kit is not cheap and I questioned myself for ordering it before I got it installed. But for the better visibility it's worth every penny and I'd buy again without hesitation.

This comment has got me on the fence...will probably buy this kit due to the simplicity that all are talking about for the install. I HATE electrical stuff and question every second of me doing it. Plus if i have to call, at least it's in the same province! I think i am sold. What was the custumer service like? Just curious.
Thanks for the advice and replies!

Customer service was very good in my experience. When I purchased mine they were having a problem with their circuit being spoofed by the brake light but it's been repaired on their end. They sent a complete new wiring harness and got it promptly (well as prompt as you can be with Canada Post crossing the border...).

:) Just put my order in! The dealership wasn't too disapointed either. Don't want to burn any bridges there. I look forward to getting this kit on. Went out last night to pick some stuff up and sure enough, a car stopped for a pedistrian at a cross walk and got rear ended. glad it wasn't me, regardless, pedistrians ok, car not. Edmontonians for the most part are not bad drivers, but we have a lot of mentaly challenged drivers here.
I did read some of the testimonials and i would hope that they are for real because they sound like the kind of company i want to deal with.
Thanks.
Will update with reagrds to how easy/hard it was to set up and will try to document as best as possible the install.

+1 I somehow toasted the circuits during the install (sounds like a temporary design issue) and they immediately cross-shipped a replacement.
Otherwise, http://stromtrooper.com/showthread.php?t=23697 provides useful information including the color-2-color matching of wires for the installation. This is for a 1k, but the colors are either the same or close enough you can work it out. Anyway, you can test and make sure all is proper.
Some instructions call for tapping the wires at the brake light in the tail section. I found this to be a pain. Better to tap in in the wiring harness running down the left side of the tail of the bike.

Yeah this is what I did as well. The only trouble I ran into with this kit was there's not much slack in that existing harness and I had a bit of trouble fitting my hands into the space to make the taps.

You guys rock! Like i said before, "I HATE ELECTRICAL!" I always think I'm going to juice myself or fry something. I can do the white to white, black to black, ground to here, connection stuff like with a ceiling fan, but if it isn't drawn out...I'm very skeptical. Either way, i look forward to doing this and will deffinately be refering back to this thread when it comes in. Thanks again.

Just installed the Admorelighting E52 top case light kit! Easy enough for me to do, Istructions were easy to follow and clear. If you hate Ikea instructions, you'll find this kit simple to put in. The only issue was the color diagram that came with the instructions. Follow Kenneths color chart and you'll be good to go. I am going to send and email to Admorelighting and let them know how satisfied I am/was with the install and also suggest they change the instructions for the Wee/Vee due to the color of the wires.
One more happy customer of Admorelighting and the kit. Super Birght, so I hope this helps get me noticed by cars coming from behind. Even the wrap around lights can be seen for the most part from the side. If Givi could build a kit like these guys...I'd have bought it.
Thanks for the recomendations.
I can't wait to show it off to my buddies, the dealership that never heard of Admorelighting, and traffic. :mod2_clap:
