One of the lights turns off after 10 seconds, is that a ballast problem? I already checked the ground wires.
If so, can anyone tell me what make these are so I can order one?
Thanks!

Found them: http://www.sidebysidesports.com/7hidoflica.html
They are Chinese made, "Custom Accessories" brand 99000-CSK for the 7" or 99004-CSK for the 4". Looks like there was some deal a few years at the now defunct partsamerica.com but now people seem to be finding them at random car parts places.
They are all-in-one jobs (ballast + ignitor + lamp in one housing) so probably have no option but to find a whole new unit.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help. I have spent at least 2 hours looking for them. I will probably toss the bad one and put the good one on my atv. They are a little too large for the bike anyway.

i was interested in your experience with this setup. I was thinking about doing the exact same thing. i know th lights have a 1 year warranty at partsamerica. also, on all the other websites they have gotten excellent reviews. was it way too overpwering?

They suck, quite frankly. If they worked I wouldn't say that. They are a little large for a V strom. They have to be mounted beneath the cowling rather than above and they will rub your front fender when you turn with the forks even slightly compressed. That being said they do put out alot of light.
