I recently lowered my dl 650 k8 using the baker 3/4 inch lowering link. after several rides through the mountains near home I quickly realized that I could drag my foot pegs and my center stand.and I only weigh 165 dressed. having crashed hard on stock bikes that would drag or high center I was not totally satisfied. soo I started measureing dog bone lenghts. I found that stock dog bones or cushion rod length was about 140mm .then I measured a couple of sv 650's dog bones on the bikes and presto! 2003 sv 650 measured approximately 143.5mm. I bought a set online and installed them on my bike. the sv dog bones lowered my dl650 k8 slightly over 3/8 of an inch. this is the hot setup for me and my aggressive riding style.the bike is now a little easier for me to manage in town traffic and quicker on mountain roads. I left my front fork tubes @ the 3/4 inch protruding through the triple clamps. this in turn steepend the front fork angle giving me quicker steering. I could not be happier nothing helps me ride better then having the edge on my buddies. 2003 through 2005 sv650 are the same and I think through 2007.BKERMAN
