The other day my left turn signals (front and back) just decided to stop working (k4 Wee). Checked and swapped bulbs without success. Sockets looked good and did not have any obvious corrosion. Cleaning and inspecting the switch assembly did not reveal any abnormalities. Left turn signals are also inop when using the hazard switch which makes me think the problem is somewhere downstream at another connection point. I’m guessing it’s a loose or fouled up connector. Before I start tearing into the bike and tracing wire routes, does anyone know the location of the connectors that include the turn signals. At first glance it looks to be included in the group located directly behind the radiator. Thanks

Been riding in the rain much of late?

The signals, left first and then rights too, on my 1000 quit a while back. They "fixed" themselves before I had a chance to sort it out. I assume, from the self fix, that it was moisture.

Is the left indicator light for the dash out too? If so, I would suspect the switch contacts or the flasher with the former more likely.

Mine see's so much rain it's starting to develop gills. It's been rather dry for the last few weeks so I don't think it's moisture related but could be corrosion in a connection.

The left dash indicator is also out. I think the switch is OK because the same problem occurs when using the Hazard switch, Left side is inop, right side works OK. I'll check the flasher tonight. Wouldn't a faulty flasher effect both sides equally since there is only one flasher relay (i think)

Good points. Looking at the wiring diagram, The most likely problem is a break in the black connection anywhere from the handlebar switch to the point where it joins the main harness to break out to the indicators. The switch housing and the connector on the other end of the harness coming out of the switch housing are the most likely trouble spots.

Without pulling the plastic, it looks like that connector should be in the group of connections that reside directly behind the radiator. Correct? I ask because I don't necessarily want to pull all of the plastic only to discover the connection I'm looking for is under the seat.... :)

Behind the radiator is correct.

Behind the radiator is correct.

It looks like it's off with the plastic.... thanks.... I'll report my findings to the group

Look for a discolored area around a connector. That's usually a sign of overheating around a connection that isn't positive.

Well it ended up being the connection behind the radiator. After pulling the plastic and removing the radiator mounting bolts to gain access, a little wiggle of the connection brought the left side back to life. getting the connection apart was a pain so I didn't get a chance to look at the contacts for corrosion. If it acts up again I'll put fourth the extra effort to pull the connection and clean it up.
