Been using it since last Oct with no problems whatsoever. Unless I look at it I forget it's anything other than the original.
Cool, thanks guys. How is the turnaround on the parts shipping? I neeeed it asap. Going to Yellowstone...
Guys, please tell me why it takes more than six days to ship a shift lever!? I called the company and they said they shipped it, even though they didnt look into my order at all.
She said
"So you bought it Saturday, so it must have shipped out Monday and it should be at your house two days after that."
I am not happy with this company so far. Still waiting...
They are not the fastest company, so patience is in order. That being said, you could pay a lot more and get it faster elsewhere, for me, I'd wait, I'm fruggle.

I found a used dictionary for $1.36 on amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/087779930X/ref=sr_1_olp_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1247325188&sr=8-1). Maybe you could squeak open the wallet and buy one. Under $2.00 is still pretty frugal. :bom_evilgrin:

If its for a 650, V-Stroma is the only place that makes one. Yes you can put a direct one on there like the 1000 uses but it will reverse your shift pattern.
I got one from V-Stroma a while ago. It took 21 days to get here after i ordered it. It took 18 days to get here after they "said they shipped it". Then when the box got here the shipping date was the day after i called them about why it wasn't here.
It was my first order with them and i was not impressed. I've read LOTS of post complaining about them. No one has ever not got there order, but they are SLOW.. to get it to you.
The pivot ball(i guess thats what you call it) has a lot more play in it than the stock one does. Makes the lever move alot before it shifts. Drove me crazy for about 2 weeks, but now i'm used to it. This winter i think i'll transplant the stock one over to it to tighen it up.

Well, its here. I ordered on July 6th and today is the 11th. I guess they did ship it out on time and there was probably mail backed up from the Holiday. They get a pass on this one.;)
The shifter is BAD ASS. Its super heavy duty and the pivot ball does not seem to have any slack. Maybe they fixed the issue. Going to install it right now. So far, so good.
I am surprised its so inexpensive because you get a quality part!
Okay, WTF!
The shifter is installed but there is a problem. The ball end that comes with the shifter is too long/large and it causing the shifter arm(on the shaft) to be almost all the way forward! It has less leverage when it is installed like that versus straight down.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I wish I could install the ball from the OEM shifter to this lever. IDEAS?

Well then, stop telling people you're fruggle. The word is frugal and you're not it. You're just plain cheap.

I can't see the linkage in that pic. See http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117672&page=2 Do you have a 650? The vstroma is a little longer than stock but that's about the only difference.

I must have the updated version. My linkage ball on the aftermarket shifter is about half an inch longer than yours therefore it places the linkage on the shaft forward. I would like to have it at a 90 degree angle, pointed down. NOT forward.
Do you think I am going to lose shift effectivity?

It's not mine. I don't have one. Is your bike a 650?

I have a 1000.That's your problem. The lever is for a 650. The 1000's linkage is different. You should have gotten the Touratech shifter.
I guess I could look for a new shorter johnson rod.
