View Full Version : Foothills Parkway & The Dragon (Deals Gap)

Yesterday me and another Trooper rode the Foothills Parkway which comes out on the Dragon. We then rode over the Draogn which was in excellent shape on the Tennessee side with the exception of a little gravel here and there. The North Carolina side was a little on the damp side. We stopped in at the Dragons Den and had a burger before coming back across the Dragon into Maryville.

We did talk to someone at the Dragons Den that reported the Cherohala Skyway was covered in salt.

Smoky, the Foothills parkway is a great ride, we always make a day trip from Bryson City (or Dillard or Franklin) where we usually spot down, we go across 441, Little River road, short time on 321, Foothills Parkway, The Gap, down 28 to 19, south to SR1310 to home base, Don't worry, we always make another day for the 28 south into Franklin.
Soooo many great roads around that area we never seem to cover the whole area in just 1 week. We always seen to do the Gap ride, 28 for sure, Maggie Valley and 276 south, then try to find new roads we haven't been on in a few years. Have kin in Maryville so who knows might hollar this year when I am up in June.

Just let me know when you might be up and I will try to get the time off, if I am not already off. Myself and a guy I work with both have Wee's. We are always looking for a good excuse to ride. 8)

Smky, we are heading out Sunday morning to Helen GA, My daughter is spending their Honeymoon in Helen for the week. That gives me an excuse to head up. Will be there from Sunday afternoon to Friday morning ( have a softball tournament in Marietta GA that weekend)
We hope to head across 441 and the foothills Tuesday or Thursday.

My cell is 352-634-1311, if no answer just leave your number and maybe we can meet up if just for lunch and/or maybe a short ride.
I know it is during the week but thats all I got this trip.
No problem if you can't make it, another time I'm sure.
