Rode into work this morning - 26 degrees

It was a little brisk this morning, but no bugs on the windshield! It's going to be 58 degrees for the ride home. Thursday and Friday will have highs in the mid 60s. Riding season is here.

Me, too, but it was a balmy 27. The high is only supposed to be 36 and there's a 30% chance of snow before I leave the office. Been there, done that. Back in the 80s, I rode a fully faired 1978 GS1000E to work in Duluth, MN, in weather as cold as 10 degrees, excluding the windchill. My record for the latest ride of the season was Nov. 23, I believe, which was the day before Thanksgiving. I had to ride home in four inches of wet snow up Thompson Hill, about two miles with a 6% grade. I was caked with snow, which matched the color of my knuckles, by the time I got home. Still smiling, though.

You get my vote! This morning is the coldest weather I've ridden in. I just got a new pair of Fieldsheer insulated pants with armor. They are fantastic. I should have worn heavier socks, though.

My coldest was 21* before windchill. Be warned, though, I dropped my bike by hitting a patch of unseen ice in a corner when it was a balmy 29* out!
