DL1000 belly pan on DL650

Will the belly pan from a DL1000 fit on a DL650? If so how well is it constructed and does it really protect the oil filter? I tried to do a search because I sure this has been asked before but I had no luck. Thanks

They don't fit. You can either use an SV650 one like I have, or get a specific DL650 one. More to chose from if you go the SV route. I used a Powerbronze one, which needed a minor bit of cutting to fit around the gear lever (SV's are obviously a bit different in that area). It fitted up in under 15 minutes, and I think it looks great. Don't need to remove it for oil or filter changes either. I wouldn't say it actually offers a lot of protection for the filter, but it covers it up, as well as hiding the front pipe.
