Hello All,

Just a quick intro: I'm a year round rider (Ohio), work in the motorcycle industry (apparel & the like) and live and breath motorcycles.

I don't get much of an opportunity to play on my pc, so you can imagine how happy I was to find your site. Lots of great info and fellow riders for sure!! I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Glad I found Stromtroopers!!

Thanks for the welcome Footloose.

Just noticed that you had an HD. Aside from the Strom, I also have an HD 07 Superglide and a 89 Honda Hawk. Yes, indeed a lady rider. No weekend warrior or fashion plate.

What part of Ohio? We often ride down to SE Ohio for the twisty, windy roads and scenery. Love the town of Marietta to stay in. And a quick jump over the river for WV.

It's a 2 hour ride to Toledo for us.

NE Ohio. 5 min. from Baldwin Wallace college in Berea. Not enough twisties, but lots of pretty landscape. We also like WV. But for whatever reason, I adore an afternoon jaunt to Pittsburgh for lunch. Nice sweepers on the way and some pretty cool inner city riding to boot. Especially the south side.

You just mentioned Olympia. That just so happens to be my gear of choice both winter and summer. If I could only afford a Rev'it Infinity suit. <sigh>

I noticed the Rev'it suit today also but prefer a two piece suit 'cause I don't wear the pants all the time. I also own the Olympia set for colder riding weather...the AST jacket and ProMax pants. Great quality riding gear!

My HD is semi retired but I put a lot of long distance travel miles on it before buying the VStrom a couple years ago. I've owned it since 1988. And I used to have a job that gave me 9-10 weeks off a year.

Are you familiar with WITW riding club?

Yes, fabulous gear indeed!!

I am familiar with WITW, but only via their website. I work 7 days a week, so extended group rides are few and far between. Sure sounds like fun though. Are you a member? My son is in the Air Force, so my only trip planned thus far will be to Texas for a visit.

My Glide is still sitting in the garage from last season with a sad front tire and a few electrical issues. Nothing that a bit of contact cleaner wont fix I'm sure, but I just have not gotten around to it.

The little Hawk is always waiting & willing to please. Funny....never an issue with that little Peach of a bike.

I belonged to WITW many years ago when I first started riding. I was the only Canadian member (there were only a few way back then) that ever showed up to the yearly meets. I made it to ones in OH, PA and CO.

Ironically, it ended up I rode too much to participate as a member so let it go. I was always somewhere else on an extended solo trip. The founder, Becky Brown of Toledo is still a friend of mine though. There are quite a few chapters in OH, a lot of whom I'd met.

I think there is still room in my shed for one more bike eventually.:devil_50: I'd like to have an antique British bike to round things out. Not high on the financial priority list at the moment though with an old schoolhouse to finish renovating and a couple other hobbies to further gear up for.

A Vincent in the garage has always held great appeal, but a Brough Superior would also do nicely.
