Don't know how but picked up a BIG screw... Don't want a new tire yet... Want to wait until the rear is toast and replace as a set... Anyone have a stock front laying around you'd like to sell? Or any other used front tire that is for a Vstrom650.... I think I safely have about 4k left in my rear so something with that many safe miles left in it is what I'm looking for.... Thanks!

Is the hole so big that it can't be plugged? Many have gotten hundreds of miles out of tires after plugging them.

It has been plugged... But I have no desire to ride it for any long distances/periods of time or really at highway speeds with a plug in my front... I'd do it with a rear... I feel okay to commute to work, but if I could find a used tire that would be easier on my mind and wallet for a planned trip to Portland next month to visit some family...

Plug it and ride it, I just rode (http://travellingstrom.com/2009/03/17/) over 4000km with a plugged front tyre, it was leaking as well. I could tell it was getting low when I slowed down for small towns, I could see the handlebars getting a slight wobble.

I just fueled up the tank and filled up the tyre, no worries.

Of course, I am now going to get the tyre patched with a vulcaniser from the inside, then it is good for another 8000km or so. Don't forget, tubeless tyres will always go down, they never go pop afaik :)

I personally would not wait for the rear to go as they will always be out of sync anyway. Of course I am talking Aussie roads and temps, so they may be different up your way.

Good luck

cheers

Guys... Thanks for all your "advice" but I want a used tire.... What you do with your bike and equipment is your business, and more power to you for how ever you do things... I want a used tire.. If you don't have one to sell, just move on without your comments.. Thanks!

I have one if you want it. I am willing to drop it off at the UPS store in McKinney TX. 75070. 4100 Eldorado parkway, 972 540 2515 If you want to call ahead to them to arrange shipping, I am willing to drop it off to them.

Took it off the bike at 7k miles. Switched to anakees front and back.

has 3-4k miles left on it in my humble opinion.

Wow! A little harsh on folks who are just trying to help, don't you think? Take a deep breath and count to ten...

Thought I would give this one last try.
Sent you two PMs, and never heard back.
If you want one or both tires just let me know.
Would like to get them out of the garage.
I will hold on to them until this weekend.

I have one locally if you want it. It's still on the bike and has about 7,500 on it. I planned on riding it for a few more months, but I already have a new one that I can mount right away if you want the old one.
