I put together an aux fuse box with parts from NAPA and Radio Shack. I have a relay so it will turn on with the switch. However I have a few questions hopefully someone can answer for me.

1) The relay trigger is supposed to go to a positive lead of a switched circuit. I was hoping to use the license plate light. There is a wire bundle going to the tail- it runs on the left side of the bike along the frame, right below the release wire for the seat. One of these is the positive license plate light lead- anybody know the wire color for this circuit?

2) I need a ground -any existing location for this ground? Should I just drill a hole in the frame and use a small machine screw? Any problem getting a good ground on the aluminum frame?

1. It's the brown wire in the sheath.
2. Do not use the frame for a ground. Aluminum/steel interfaces cause bimetallic corrosion. You can run a heavy wire from the battery negative to a ground block if you need more connections than the battery ground can handle.
