* After much due dilligence I am now the Proud Owner of a New 03 MelloYello V-Strom 1000 with matching factory Bags and tall Windshield. I have like many on this forum owned alot of different bikes over the years and I have very high expectations for this one. I recently sold my Harley Bagger that I was very happy with but wanted something vastly different. Read; Fast, Good Handling and Reliable with less costume theatre and more capable riding.
The only other bike that came close was an 04 BMW but other than missing music, ABS, heated grips and an electrical outlet for my GPS The Suzi was the hands down clear winner!!! My project now is not to make it faster, but to install the above needed accessories.
I got a very good deal on a remaining 03 after negotiating that had all the extras installed already, so I went for it.
2 things of note: I would like to extend an invitation to any Northern California Riders to get together for some mutual riding and tech maint days and secondly I would like to see a folder for Dealer Experiences both good and bad since so many of our riders do rides outside of their local areas it would be nice to recognize both good and bad Dealers and reward them accordingly with our support.
