DC to CO to UT to NM and ?

Taking my first cross country on the wee (not my first cross country). Spent lots of time on the road with my conni. Also planning to do some off road, so the reliablity will be different.

I'm looking for some good wisdom about what to expect and what I'll need for the wee on this trip.

1) reliability issues off road

2) Good off road routes in CO, UT, and NM

I am about to embark on my first cross country trip from Asheville NC to Black Rock City, Nevada on my DL1000. What did you discover on you Wee that you wish you had? or found invaluable on the trip? My goal is to blast out there in 4 or 5 days, but meander back hitting the grand canyon and some other spots. What did you do for places to stay? Campgrounds, motels, resorts? Thanks, any advice would be appreciated. Rubble
