2006 DL650K6
Well cared for motorcycle. Used as a street bike; not dual sported, but it’s seen a few gravel roads. SW Motech centerstand, sissy bar for mounting t-bag, corrected speedometer faceplate, color-matched fairing lower, Givi sidebag racks (bags not included), high quad bars, Bar Snake, Dual Star 2-position grip heaters, 12V (cigarette lighter type) outlet for charging electronics. 26,672 miles, lots more to go. New DID o-ring chain, front (Avon AV45-ST) and rear (Bridgestone Battlax BT021) tires installed at approx 22,000 miles. Good looking bike and a great runner. $4900.

Is your 06 V-Strom still available? The lower fairing is nice! Where did you buy it??
Thanks,
Jim

Yes, this bike is still for sale. The lower is a two-piece fiberglass assembly that I got from a company in France. Can't remember their name, but I found out about them through Stromtrooper back in 2006 right after I bought the bike. It's an excellent fit and perfect paint match, takes about 20 minutes to bolt-up and does not interfere with changing the oil filter. All that and it's free with the purchase of this motorcycle!

Looked back through my records and figured out that the fairing lower was builty by JMV, distributed by Eurobikes. Eurobikes went out of businesss and I can't find JMV on a Google search. Guess you're gonna have to buy my bike to get one.

Did you change out the sprockets when you replaced the chain and have the valves been checked, ever dropped, dents etc. Thanks Everett

The sprockets were both good when the chain was replaced, in fact the chain was probably still good when it got replaced. One weekend last summer I took off on a 1500 mile trip w/o throwing a can of chain lube in my bag and couldn't find any while out on the road. It got pretty dry, so, to be safe, I replaced the chain when I returned home even though it looked & sounded good after being lubed. The sprockets were and still are in good condition. I'm running a 17T front sprocket and will throw in the brand new stock 16T.
This is a great running bike. With continued easy starting and no changes in performance or fuel milage over it's life, I've not adjusted the valves. Having heard reports of folks checking valve lash and finding everything w/in spec at 15k & 30k on other DL 650's, I haven't felt the need to do the same with a motorcycle that runs this well and isn't real friendly to access the valve train on. No regrets there. It's been treated to Mobil 1 changes every ~4000 miles throughout it's life.
Two years ago I had the misfortune of dropping this bike in a patch of gravel in the middle of a 90 degree righthander. The Givi sidebag ended up being an outstanding frame slider and took the brunt of the fall, but is still fully useable. Replaced the front brake lever and throttle side bar-end weight center screw and all is good. Other than a small scratch on the top of the tank from a gotcha on a magnetic tankbag and some rock chips on the bottom of the fairing lower, the bike is good. No dents. Radiator, pipe and wheels are all unscathed. Seat is flawless. It's been stored indoors year-round it's whole life.

Dropping the price to $4700. Will take another $100 off if you do not want the Givi bag mounts.

What side bags did you have on your V-Strom? Do you have pictures with them on it? I know that they are not being sold with the V-Strom but it would be nice to see what it looked like . . . I'd need bags if I were to get it.
Thanks,
Jim

Here's the bike with Givi E-21 sidebags on it. Overall width with them on the bike is just shy of 38". Any of the Givi Mono-key line of bags will fit on these brackets.
