The two things to get right are the clearance between grip and switchgear/throttle reel housing and the connection to keep the unit from spinning. Some people thin the unit to fit. I replaced the grips with ones that don't go past the ridge on the throttle tube. The CC4 as is makes a perfect fit to the left of the ridge. It's typical to use a cable tie to anchor the unit to the throttle cable tunnel. I used a strip of aluminum, a longer screw and an extension bushing. Mine is a Wee but a similar setup ought to work on a Vee.

Hi Drew

If you do not want the throttle lock sticking up in the air then check out this thread here, (http://11109.rapidforum.com/topic=112269186292&search=NEP%2CThrottle%2CLock) this is how mine is installed, pointing downwards, easy to use without lifting your hand off the throttle, just a quick thumb movement on and off.

For what it is worth, I installed mine originally using the cable tie on my 06 650 for stability and transferred it to my 09 650, it did not need the cable tie as the throttle cable set up was a bit different and it just sits on the cables themselves

Personal preferences are interesting. I moved mine up higher because the lower position felt awkward to me.

I'm just about to give up on the CC4. I've looked at all the pics and threads on it but can't seem to get it to work right. No matter how i position it it holds the throttle open where I let go instead of letting it close. No, the switch isn't in the locked position. Anyone else able to overcome this?

It can be adjusted too far closed, be cocked to one side, or too thick. If you are using the stock grips, it needs to be thinned or the grips must be trimmed even with the throttle tube ridge. You can see the ridge between the CC4 and the grip in this picture. Unlike the stock grips, my HotGrips do not go over the ridge.
