Happy Trails has a sale going on their panniers: $250 off the full Teton luggage/racks kit, for example ($599 instead of $848): http://www.happy-trail.com/Departments/Make-Model-Specific/Suzuki.aspx
I was planning to wait a while, but I might be forced to jump on this.

Yep, hell of a deal. I bought mine (back in 04) when they had a Christmas deal. Saved some serious loot.

I just talked to Ed(?) at Happy Trails, after I noticed the website says the top rack is not included or required, though it always used to be. Turns out they have a new design, and the $599 price reflects the kit without top rack (no pictures of the new racks on the site yet). It's still a discount, but not as deep as I had thought. They also have free shipping to the lower 48 for any purchase over $175, through Dec 31.

You just can't beat putting 20mm ammo cans on the side of this bike. they are almost bullet proof, they are water proof, they are as ugly as the bike (although I like the look of the Strom!) you can buy them all over the place and best of all they are cheap!!! I just put some turn signals on mine to make them extra visible. Oh yeah, and they make a great place to set your magnetic tank bag when fueling.

That is what I am using mounted on sw-motec evo racks. I am having some nice aluminum lids made to make them lighter.

There are several threads about using ammo cans for luggage, including lots of pics. This thread is (was) about Happy Trails prices. :)
