I bought a Gerbing's jacket and dual controller(new) the day before Thanksgiving. Finally got a chance to install and test it today. It was about 36 degrees this afternoon and 28 degrees this evening, (my two test runs). Some highway riding up to 60mph this afternoon and up to 45mph this evening.
The controller is getting power but I'm not getting heat from the jacket compared to what others have described, not a toasty feeling anyway. Tried different settings on the controller.
I have an '08 Wee and haven't added any other electrical add-ons.
I was wearing a long sleeve cotton t-shirt, the Gerbing's and my Tourmaster Jett, Series 2 jacket with the liner.
Does the bike have enough power for this device? How can I troubleshoot this? I don't have a meter installed.(yet)
I was planning on gloves or glove liners and socks too. I've installed hand guards.

Start simple. Make sure everything is plugged in correctly and make sure you are turning on the correct side of the dual controller (turn them both on). Make sure you have a fuse installed in the controller cable and that it isn't blown. Find a friend who has a Gerbing connector that is known to work properly and try it on that bike. Past that you are going to need a volt meter or a 12v lamp with some wires soldered to it to troubleshoot the circuit.
My First Gear liner is a 65 watt liner (they also have a 90 watt version) and it gets very warm, it was 23 degrees when I left home this morning and I was warm as toast. The Gerbing is 77 watts so it should get plenty warm.

Are you getting any heat at all? For the Gerbings to work best they need to be pretty tight to your skin. I usually wear the jacket right over a long sleeve t-shirt. I can have it cranked and not feel the heat if the jacket is bunched up and not close to my body. If I press my arm across my chest I can then really feel it.
The closer the fit the better.

+1. Make sure your liner is tight. Better to wear a t-shirt underneath and layer over than put the liner on over a heavier shirt. I have the Warm/Safe Gen 3 version (comparable), and in the temps you describe, it works well. If the liner is baggy at all, exchange it for one that's smaller. I have actually burned myself a bit with a liner that was turned up too high. Can't speak to wattage issues.

I went riding Sunday and the Gerbing's is working fine. I'm guessing one of the wires wasn't properly connected. The heat is fantastic. I ordered Gerbing's foot liners today.
Thanks everyone!
