Hi,

I am trying to remove my front turn signals. I had a couple drops, and they are both cracked. I used electrician's tape to hold them together, but I'd really like to seal the cracks with super glue.

Anyway, I'm not sure how to remove these things. I got everything unscrewed, but how do I detach the black and turquoise wires? Is there a certain tool I need or do I just yank them out?

I realize this is probably a dumb question for most of you, but I'd rather look naive on the internet than wreck something.

I attached some pictures:
- A shows the back of the signal case. Does that metal protrusion on the right do anything? What is that?
- B shows where the black wire is clamped down.
- C is out of focus but shows the turquoise wire where it sits in the bulb socket and ends with a little nub that contacts the bulb.

Sorry about the crappy quality of the pictures. Thanks very much for any advice you can provide!

last pic is no good. extremely blurry. i don't think we know what your problem is. up under the cowl kind of near the headlight is a plg for the wiring. unplug it from there and pul the wires throught the fairing.

Ah, so there is a plug?

:bom_dunce:

I am going to go try that. Thanks!

The Wiring Plug is a black rectangular plug with a flap latch on the side that you have (carefully) lift up while pulling the two halves apart.

The entire turn signal assembly comes out with a crescent wrench by turning a nut on the inside of the fairing.

Yeah I found the plugs and detached em. Turn signals are now repaired, though Krazy Glue discolors the plastic, turns it white.

Thanks

Yep - that's why you should get the Lockhart-Phillips flushmounts and replace them. You won't have to worry about breaking them and you don't have to worry about getting all the plastic pieces from the accident scene.

Although, black electrical tape will work to cover the stock bulbs in a pinch.

Yeah I saw those in another thread, and I will probably get those if I manage to wreck the stock ones to the point where they are unsalvageable. For now though there are lots of other cool stuff I could throw money at.
