View Full Version : sw moto center stand
Installed my new sw moto centerstand that I ordered from Twisted Throttle. I am not very happy with the stand. It seems to wobble when on the stand. Does anyone know how the OEM Suzuki stand performes. This stand seems very cheap(but not inexpensive). I am thinking about returning it!

The Suzuki stand is made of solid material in the important areas ie. where it mounts and the rest is hollow tubing. I'm trying to get away from
dragging pegs or anything else on the bike, now I'm back to this issue.
They give you a 1"+ feeler to mount on the left foot peedle. The stock one is about 1/4".The stand does probably stick out more on the left side then the SW Motech. This is the part you push down with your foot. Other then that it looks like a good stand.

I installed the Suzuki centre stand last summer on my '02, it seems fine. I've not had any difficulty putting the bike up or 'launching it' from the stand (although with temperatures hovering about 3C there's not much chance of launching it today!).
I struggled to lube my chain in the first 10k miles due to the limitations of a side-stand, but the centre stand has resolved all of that.
Cheers!

I have the Suzuki center stand which was installed last August. I use it a lot and find it's pretty solid and well designed. I use it whenever I oil the chain (about once a week) and also when parking it at work when parking gets tight.

Installed the centerstand on a sunny Feb 22/04 in Vancouver. Tweeked my back but just hand to get the uninsured VS out . Projection drawings always screw me up I'am use to Cartisian drawings. Needless to say I put the first bracket on the wrong side. Always check the quatity of bolts and lengths. Nothing screws you up more then when the quantity or size is wrong. The instruction are good on the Suzuki center stand. They want you to tighten the bolts to a specific torque but a torque wrench will not fit in. I question the 60 NM torque on the last bolt, its only aluminum and could strip. The instruction do not tell you or supply grease or removeable thread locker.
