Do I have enough juice to run a Gerbing jacket liner and heated grips. I just installed the Symtec heated grips and they work great, I'm thinking now with a heated jacket liner i can ride all year round.
I have no other accesories other than a Strebel.....

I've run the same combo without any issues. I'd recommend getting a voltmeter so you can keep an eye on your charging system.

What do you look for in voltage? what level is safe? I'm guessing +12. 8 or above?
Thanks

That's a pretty good bet. As long as you get around 13v at speed you are charging the battery and will be fine. You may notice that at idle the voltage will go down to 11.5ish because the bike's not generating enough power. Nothing to worry about unless you are stuck in traffic, but then you shouldn't need your jacket on high at 0mph.

There will often be some voltage drop to a bike mounted voltmeter. Put a good multi-meter designed for circuit testing on the battery terminals and check the difference between it and the mounted voltmeter. 12.6V is the minimum you want to see at the battery terminals for the bike's electrical system to handle the load. If the multi-meter is accurate and reads 13.0V when the mounted voltmeter reads 12.5V for example, you know you want to see at least 12.1V on the voltmeter for the battery to be charging.

OK, it looks like a Gerbing heated jacket liner and volt meter are on my Christmas list..
Now, how do the sizes run? are they spot on or do I buy a bit smaller so it hugs the body?
And of course the cheapest place to buy?
thanks guys
