I bought my V-Strom back in June. I have over 6k on it. I love it, the best motorcycle I've ever owned. I am really enjoying this bike and will be putting a lot of miles on it. I'm even shooting for a Saddle Sore 1k for sometime this spring, never had a motorcycle I could think of doing that on before. My father is impressed as well. We are looking for one for him.
I have been riding for more than 25 years. I hope to make a living in the Motorcycle industry sometime soon.

Almost everything I've read or heard about this bike has been positive. In the very near future I'm going to be trading my GL1500SE in for a 'Strom. This is going to be quite a change for me. The closest thing I've ever owned to a "sporty" bike was a Kawasaki VN750, although I once rode a Concours awhile back and a CBR600 once. The only question I find myself asking now is whether to go with the 1000 or the 650. I love the look and feel of the 650, and both bikes feel pretty light just sitting on them.

I think you'll find the 'Strom to be a comfortable, confident touring machine. As an added bonus, it'll be considerably more nimble and easier to handle than the GL1500. :D

I'm really looking forward to the change, although to be honest the wing gets a little bit of a bum rap in the handling department. For a 900 lb piece of machinery, it's not the pig you'd think. Still, there IS a reason I'm looking at getting a 'Strom. :D

Don't get me wrong, the newer GL's handle much better than they should, but the 'Strom is half the weight. It'll be easier to live with, even around the parking lots or the garage.
