I have one on the rear. So far it handles very well on street and dirt roads. I was going to put one on the front but i think i'm going to try a TKC first and keep the trail attack on the back. The TA certainly looks like it will last the lifetime of two TKC's in the front. Those are some deep groovs.

I have these tires on F & R w/ nearly 6,000 miles, they are doing great. I put Ride-On in them right away & didn/t balance they at all. Very smooth all the way up to xxx. I will say that the cornering is very wide open, I never feel like there is a point of no return. I am sure there is such a point but this set of tires are the best I have had on a street bike. I can easily see 12,000 miles even w/ some spirited riding on the wknds. Most of my miles (on these tires) to date have been on the interstates & pushing it hard. Hope this helps.

Thanks BTD. That was exactly what I was looking for.

I've been doing some research and the "Evaluation" section pretty much summed up what I'd discovered, that is, that the Conti Trail Attack will be my next tyre.

One thing that surprised me ..... Most of the tested tyres were reported as having a life in the 6000-8000 klm range. Can this be right? I put my present set of Anakees on at 11300 klms just on a year ago and I've just gone past 25000, so that's 13700 kms that they've done.
The rear definitely needs replacing but the front I'd imagine is good for another 3000 or so. Granted, I don't give them too hard a time and 95% of my riding is on the tarmac, so I'd hope that the TAs will have a longer useful life with me than a miserly 7000kms. At well over $500 a set fitted they'd want to!

It looks the Conti is the clear winner.

Having put a set of Continental Trail Attacks on before the ride up to Ironhorse, I am now sold on these tires. With about 2,000 miles they never gave me an ounce of trouble either in the rain, under hard braking, or leaned way over. These are easily the most confidence inspiring dual sport tires I've used. If they get any kind of mileage, I've found the tire I will use all the time.

i wish this thread was here when i was looking for new tires last year. i read and researched and looked for rider input on many different brands. FINALLY i went with the trail attacks. I LOVE them. great in the rain, sticky in the corners and when need be... pretty darn good in the snow/ice (got cought on the way home one nite) i didnt fall...

anyway after looking all around i got them from here www.tiresunlimited.com not a bad price and they ship really fast...

I've got about 1,000 KMs on my TAs (front & rear) and I gotta say, I echo EVERYTHING Pinkman has said!! I'm SOLD!! :p

I've had my Trail attacks on for one weekend with a bit of almost everything since last friday, some paved twisites, highway, gravel and unmaintained road and some 2up twisites and gravel riding

I'm just coming off a set of Karoo Ts... so its had for me to remember how more conventional tires performed on gravel & off road

anyway, not really impressed with the Trail Attacks

terrible in mud.... felt like I was on a ski jack, front tire was sliding instead of rolling

loose gravel... I spose ok, but not even close to the performance of worn out Karoo Ts

pavement..... ok but nothing to write home about

over all, just a Road Attack with a slightly different tread

will I buy another set.... probably not, unless the rear lasts 10k or better
