I own a 08 Wee that has 4800 miles on it appox 4500 miles were put on from july until a couple of weeks ago. During that time I have had no problems with the bike, been running fine. At the 4000 mile oil change I switched to suzuki 10w40 synthetic. In the last few weeks it has started to get cold here in North West Florida a few nights down in the lower 30's, all was fine the first week riding home from work at midnight. Then it started, when the outside temp was below 50 I would get the CHECK indication, I looked in the owners manual and checked everything it suggested, finding nothing I would ride to work the next day with no Check ind. When I go to work the outside temp is around 75 and all is fine, but on the ride home outside temp below 50 the indication comes back. Rode on sat 11/08 for about an hour outside temp was around 80 with no probelms, went out lastnight outside temp was 39 and the chec indication came on before I left the drive way. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Are you getting a CHEC or an FI indication? The bike should not run with a CHEC indication. It normally occurs if the kill switch is off or if the sidestand is down and the bike is in gear. An FI indication means there is a trouble code stored in the computer. If that is what you have, see http://11109.rapidforum.com/topic=120368827511

I am getting a CHEC and it seems to still run fine with the CHEC on, which is strange. I have not gotten an FI indication at all, the CHEC comes and goes during the time I'm riding home from work about 40 minutes but only under 50 degrees.
Thanks for any help.

There is a serial communication line between the ECM and the display - if the display doesn't see the info from the ECM (because it's off via the engine kill switch, or the wire isn't connected), it will display CHEC. Check the connector in the left front fairing for a wire slightly pushed out?
