I contacted Givi regarding the galvanized bolts they provided with the crash guards. The Allen heads on the galvanized are like butter compared to the stainless OEM bolts removed.

Craig at Givi's response: Thank you for your e-mail. We have found through selling thousands of these crash bars the galvanized bolts to be more than adequate for this product. These bolts due not rust and are more than capable of holding up on the motorcycle. We will pass along your feedback and we appreciate you taking the time to send this.

I replied explaining I would pay to replace the garbage bolts with Stainless M8x40's for $10.00. I requested he do an internet search and see how many others are less than happy with the cheap frame bolts.

Givi's give a $hit attitude, and issue's I've read here are enough I will return the guards and replace with Mo-Tech's.

Just a suggestion... The stainless bolts you'll need can likely be found at any Grainger or Fastenal for a few bucks... If you otherwise like their product, why not make it the way you want for a couple dollars? You already mentioned that you'd pay them to send the proper bolts... They're obviously not interested...

Just a thought...

I've used Fastenal quite a few times and have never been able to buy any single bolts, always by the bag. I hate having that stuff sit around as I always forget it's there and rebuy anyway. For me it's just more convenient to go buy what I need at the local hardware store.

I also think that aftermarket suppliers should include stainless hardware with these items, if we can go out and buy them for a few bucks at Grainger or Fastenal why can't they do the same?

I'll never buy a Givi product again. For the same reason and many others.

It appears this company sells by the piece.

I for one have had no problem with Givi's return policy, but I also order through cycle gear.

You mis understood. I am replacing the bolts myself. I wanted them to acknowledge the botls proved are crap, and to fix the issue so the next guy doesn't get screwed.

Getting the blow off response was just more fuel to the fire to press harder.

8x8mx40 ss bolts will cost $13.00 or 10% of complete purchase price. It not about the money, it about principle.

How many sets of guards as Givi sold with these $hit bolts, and fabrication that require the buyers to retap threads?
