ok, i've been google searching the site for an hour and can't find a previous thread on this, found threads about changing the gauge faces, but what about the backlighting?
i really really don't care for the orange, what kind of lights are inside?
anyone know?
colored incadescents, filters, soldered or socketed bulbs
i'm sure someone who's changed their faces or otherwise gone diggin around inside the instruments might have noticed

My guess would be LED like most newer cars

I don't have a strom anymore to look at to confirm (sniff :(), but I think the lights are clear and the color comes from the gauges themselves.

The LEDs can be changed and are available on eBay (e.g. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUZUKI-SV650-SV1000-SV-650-LED-KIT-GAUGE-CLUSTER-BLUE_W0QQitemZ390002865709QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ200 81024?IMSfp=TL081024105003r21440 ). There are write-ups on the SV1000 groups on how to do it, I think they are SMD (surface mount device) LEDs.
