ok. i think this is gonna be a winner. i'm a truck driver by trade and am used to driving by what i see, hear and smell. i'm not one of those people who has the radio on and jammin out. if i can see thats about 65% of the battle. if i can smell i'll prolly smell something goin wrong hopefully b4 it completely quits. (like hot tires, brakes, leaking oil or fuel) but hearing whats going on around u is almost as important to me as seeing. although last nite there was some percieved wind noise i noticed today i can know hear a bit more throaty note to my engine. can hear approaching traffic on a 4 lane much better. a whole lot more confidence for me.

i had to run abunch of errands this morning and rode the 650 extensively. at puttin around speeds all the way up to about 85 mph indicated. i think this windshield mite get me in trouble. the ride is definitely a LOT smoother. we had gusty winds here this morning as a cold front moved in and this thing never rode as solid as it did today. at no time was the posted speed limit above 50 mph. i felt as cool as a cucumber. grinnin like an idiot.
i did notice the screen vibrating a little, but after a few moments it does not bother me. i think i can defintely dial it in.
in florida we dont have a helmet law and tonite i needed to run to the store for tobacco purposes. only a few blocks. at the risk of gettin flamed i wanted to see where the air was hittin my head. since its clean shaven its easy to feel exactly where its hittin at about 55 degrees.
at 40 mph its hittin just on the very top of my scalp.
i really think imma gonna like this. thanks paul

I have been considering which windshield to put on my Wee. I have narrowed it down to 2 choices, the MP and the WindStrom. I emailed paul and recieved a very quick response, and had similar results emailing WindStrom.
It will basically boil down to which one I like the looks of the most.

hmmm.....what to do, what to do

cheers

I just got my MP shield today .install was easy.it is IMO the best looking shield out there.i rode it tonight for about 50 mi. it is exactly what i wanted .the new brackets that come with.tilt it back slightly where it should have been from factory.lots of adjustability too.paul sas at MP cycle design was very helpful.it was a pleasure doing business w/ paul.this shield is the BEST designed for this bike.it looks awesome and functions well.ive got a cee-baileys and a MRA vario that will never be used again.my only regret is that i didnt buy the MP shield first.live and learn. :)

I also have the MP shield, works great but when off road a little hard to see directly in front for rocks etc.

I'm always concerned about the people who spent the big bucks and don't want to admit defeat. I know someone who bought this shield, let me test ride it on his bike when he first installed it becasue he didn't have time to ride, it was worse than the stock shield!! This was 5 months ago and he is still adjusting it. He says it works fine, but he is still adjusting it and won't let anyone else try it out. I won't be convinced until I test ride one that actually works.

I don't know what their refund policy is, but I don't have the time to go through the trouble of ordering, installing, adjusting, and probably finding out it doesn't really work that well.

I thought having the bike was all about enjoying it and then buying accessories to try out? At least that's what my wife always tells me! :D

I've tried the California Scientific Windshield and I'm leaning towards trying out the MP CycleDesigns. I agree that without trying it out, how else would you know?

I ride w/the MP both shorty and touring and, well, it ROCKS! Plain and simple, hands down, end of story for me. Heavy emphasis on last 2 words there; as always YMMV. However, you have NOTHING to lose by trying out the MP since Paul has a 90 day refund policy.

Had the MP touring screen now for about a month and it is absolutly perfect! I have the shorty also but haven't used it yet..

Experimented with various settings to keep it as low as possible while remaining effective. I found the 'sweet spot' be be on the lowest setting, with one extra washer on the lower bolts to increase the rake just slightly. I think it will stay there for awhile until the weather really gets hot. Then I'll try the shorty.

Which size did you get & how tall are you (if you don't mind my asking)?

It measures 22in. maximum length. That's including the cutout section at the bottom of the screen. I'm not sure how MP measures it. I just gave Paul my height/inseam and he sent me the screen. (oh yea, there was money involved somewhere..) I'm just over 6ft w/ shoes on, with a 32in. inseam.

Hope this helps!

ive been riding my MP CYCLE DESIGN for 8 weeks now. i first set it at middle hole setting w/2 washers at lower screws and 1 washer at top screws.ive been completly happy with it there.so perfect its scary.so good looking too.i really really like my MP shield .honestly.im 6ft. tall 225 lbs. using SUZUKI gel-seat my inseam is 32 in.hope this info helps. i have a MRA vario shield in the closet (never used )and (UGLY, but ok CEE-BAILEY)23.5 in closet too.I could live w/cee b. but its so ugly and rake of shield is too vertical because it mounts to stock bracket.thats the flaw w/all other shields.ONLY MP has the magical bracket .mp did it RIGHT. in my opinion.

I have the MP medium screen on my wee strom I have two washers in the bottom to increase the rake. I like to ride without a faceshield and only wear glasses. I don't want to mess with ear plugs. The ride is very quiet. I get a little buffeting over 65 mph and sometimes in a cross wind but very workable. I just added a 16 tooth front sprocket which also helps "smooth out the ride". I would recommend the MP. :D

Thanks everybody for convincing me. I just received the standard touring shield and the shortest shorty. It would be difficult for me to be be happier with the appearance and performance. I was going to use the big'un for touring and the stocker for around town but decided to get the shorty on the basis of looks. It turns out to be a better performer too. Being able to swap them in a few minutes without tools is a plus. Tomorrow, I'll try the lowest mount to see how that works. Paul is a great guy to deal with too.
