Hi Just wounder how offeten I should refresh the oil in the forks and check the steering head bearings. I have an 06 wee, with 18,000kms

Its not like the old days where you can just pull a drain screw and change the fork oil. If you are still running the factory oil, I would highly suggest changing out the fork springs to a set of Sonics, and go with Rich's recommended 15wt fork oil. The stock oil is about 7wt.

You will be pleasantly surprised at the difference. A fork brace rounds things out nicely.
Each fork leg will hold 500cc of oil to obtain the recommended level as per Rich's instructions.
Back in the day, you could drain the oil, and dump in the amount found in your owners manual. Todays bikes require removal of the forks and draining them, then using a measuring device to set the oil level. I guess you could turn the bike upside down to drain the forks..... ;)
For the steering bearings, I have only had to make one very tiny adjustment in over 130,000km.
