Hello, I'm looking for some route information from FL to MA. I'm starting from scratch and would like some suggestions for off the beaten path routes. I'm thinking of following the Appalachians. If you have parts of this trip mapped out, I'd be interested in that too. Thanks.

There are few south to north routes in Virginia. On the far east you have I95; avoid too much traffic. I81 is a bit further west, while less crowed its still not too fun. Rt 11 follows I81 and is fun to ride, but its slow due the towns it goes through. If you have the time you could get on the blue ridge parkway in North Carolina and then the Skeyline drive once the Parkway runs out around Harrisburg, VA.

Hey where are you leaving FL from? My buddy and I are planning a very similar trip. We are looking to go from FL the Atlanta to see a Braves game from there we plan to head north on as many back roads as possible to Pittsburg to see a Pirates game. After that our plan is to go east and see the Yanks (my buddy’s team) then north again to see a Sox game (my team). From there we plan to head west to Ohio and then head back home from there. We are looking for the most off Interstates way to go (except for the games). We’re looking for this to be about a 2 week trip next spring, May/June time frame. We plan to camp for the most part so our bikes will be loaded down, good thing we're both on 650 V-stroms!!!

When are you looking to do your trip? If you are going before next spring let me know how it goes and any route info you obtain. Good luck!
