A special thanks to Brendan for the new area to highlight our Strom offerings.
SpeedStar V-Strom guards and new and improved headlight masks.
New Tank guards perfectly sized to the rear tank just above the seat. Same material as the masks. They are $20 delivered.

I made these lower frame guards for my bike because I was concerned about scratching the frame by the foot-peg area on my black '05 Strom so I designed and cut these protectors on my Plotter table at work. I was really pleased with how it turned out and thought other owners may be interested in them too. I have since had requests for a triple-clamp protector, lower fork guards and headlight masks and added them to the offering. The upper frame guard was also requested to supplement
The material is 12mil thick 3M protective film, available in black or Carbon fiber look, headlight masks are headlight specific dark tint.
If you would like any of these, please email me at: drcroix@aol.com
I accept Paypal or personal check.
If paying by Paypal, the account is: drcroix@aol.com
Check can be mailed to:
Devin Ridgeway

The lower frame guards are:
$20.00 in carbon fiber look or black
The upper guard is needed by some with Aerostich zippers. It is also $20 a set.
I also have a midsized frame guard that covers the bottom portion and extends up and over the bend in the frame and meets with the recessed area above.
They are available in black.
The triple-clamp protectors are:
$15.00 in carbon fiber look.
The 650 and 1000 have different triple-clamps so I need to know which you have.
The lower fork guards are $12.00 in black.
Headlight masks are $25 for the four-piece set in a headlight specific dark tint film.
The tank guards are $20.
If you want all four parts, I will discount the total price by $10.00,
If you order some other combo, I will offer a discount as well, just let me know.
These are delivered prices in the states.
Overseas shipments may be a few dollars more for shipping.
Thanks for the support,
Devin

I have had a lot of requests to make headlight masks out of the material that I use for my frame guards. Here is what I have come up with in a dark tint material that holds up great and goes on very easy.
There are four pieces, two large ones for the top and two small strips for the bottom.

Here are the triple-clamp guards for the 650 and 1000. The first one on the bike is an older pattern. The new pattern is the smaller print.

Just a quick BUMP for a TOP QUALITY GUY to deal with!!!
I've got all his Frame Guards and Headlight Masks, and I think they all look great!!! Very functional too. Bugs and crap wipe right off, and in almost 10,000 miles they still look new.
Cheap insurance to keep your bike looking great.
Thanks for making these Devin!!!

Just applied the headlight masks. Thanks for the clear instructions. I would have tried to do it without wetting it first and messing them up for sure. It worked out perfectly!
I ordered the black ones, instead of the tinted ones.

For my very first post, a seller review!
Actually you have to be very careful with this seller...
He managed to ship me a full set of protectors (at a great price) and they took 2 days from payment to delivery! And I'm from BELGIUM! :eek6: That's just about the FASTEST shipping I've ever had Internationally! The local mail manages 3 days for a priority letter (and Belgium is like a poststamp big)
So beware, feel free to order a great product at a sharp price, but keep in mind he ships faster then a squirrel on a Strom! :-D
On to the product, secured shipping in different envelopes, then in another bigger envelope with cardboard backing. Everything looks very nicely made. Instructions included with every different set.
All I need now is delivery of my ordered DL650 K8 ABS and I can stick the protectors on!
A+, highly recommended!

Are the headlight masks mounted from the inside or the outside of the headlight lens?
SpeedStar
01-18-2009, 07:07 PM
They are vinyl adhesive stickers applied to the outside. They can be removed later easily if you ever wanted to and they go on very easy. Let me know if you have any other questions about them.

What are the chances you could make some of the frame guards in silver (for those of us with 2004 or older V-Stroms)? I'd get upper and lower guards if you could do them in silver.
Thanks

Thanks for the interest but I don not have silver material.
There have been plenty that have ordered the black and put it on the silver framed Stroms and it looks good IMHO.
I can make them out of the headlight mask material also which is a dark tint and might look nice against the silver frame as well.
Let me know if I can get any for you.

I just got done applying my tri-clamp, headlight masks, and frame guards. Damn that was easy and they all look great! The instructions that came with them were complete and helpful. Thanks SpeedStar for an awesome product with quick delivery. I chose to apply only the upper headlight mask - I like that look a little better. Ride safe!

I received the stuff that I ordered from Devin straight away.
He communicates with his buyers (or prospective buyers) well.
I haven't followed the installation instructions yet, but I have read them over and it seems that even I will be able to follow them!
Unique, quality products with a stand up guy standing by!

Hey Devin...Big B has been looking for some protection for the lower frame on his new Concours 14. Any way to get your hands on one to do some measurements?
If not, maybe we could make templates...and mail them to you.
No one as of yet makes anything like this for the new Concours....and it could really use some protection around the foot control area.

Hi BTD, he sent me an email about it and I responded to him. I would love to make something for him but is is difficult without the bike available to me as it takes a number of iterations to get the template just right.
I let him know a technique to get us started.
Email me and we can talk about it. drcroix@aol.com
Thanks for the help.

Got the headlight masks in about 3 days, which is quite impressive since I live in Finland - a letter from our neighbour country Sweden would have taken longer! Easy to adjust for a perfect fit. Now my strom's got eyeliner and looks gooood! "Maybe she's born with it - maybe it's Speedstars mask!" ;D

Devin,
I have your lower frame protectors. They have only been on since April. The following happend to the one on the right side:
9585
I installed them just as your directions said, and subjected them to no unusual abuse. Nothing more than the side of my ankle, covered in a leather boot contacted them. The tear occured over time, each time I noticed it I tried to press it back on, but it would not stick.
Is there anything you can do to help rectify this situation ?
SpeedStar
08-17-2009, 09:06 AM
I have never soon one do that. I suspect that the adhesive was not a strong hold there. Maybe the frame had some residue on it? I will take care of you. Send me an email.

Devin..got the headlight masks right after I ordered...how do you do it? So friggin' fast!
I'm lovin this DL1000, and the masks just seem so right for it. Great stuff!
This pic is down near PHL airport (where I work), taken near Fort Mifflin (which fired cannon shots at British ships way back when). It shows how these headlight masks really compliment the tinted Euro screen set up, especially on an all-black bike!
One of the best Strom accessories; the masks don't impede the brilliant headlight output (so helpful for night riding), but still make this beast look great...on the go or standing still.
Thanks again for a great product on my SECOND Strom!!

Very happy with Devin's products: they look so slick on the wee. Install was easy thanks to the documentation provided and to the magic formula (a must to make placing the stickers real easy!!!) I was able to place them in no time whereas cleaning the bike took me a good two hours! They will surely be easy to clean too in the future and will protect the bike as intended (my lower fork tubes were already dented with rock projections)
Delivery was super fast, the next day, and in the Fedex envelop each piece was placed in a separate envelop with instructions. This is not excellent, this is deluxe service...By comparison I am still waiting for my Vstrom stickers;-)I know it's only been 3 days but now I am becoming more demanding! Devin raised the customer service bar to the highest. Can't beat that.
And yes the front of the bike looks really meaner with the Headlight mask:-)
Thanks again!
Bruno
PS. Got my 05 Vee today and will place the same set on pretty soon.

2008/2009 and 2010 Concours 1400 Frame guards would be great!!!
Get your hands on a 08/09 and a 2010...see what you can come up with.
NO ONE is doing anything like this for them...and they will sell!!!
I'll be your first customer:)

BTD - I know I have had this request before. It is hard to make a template for a bike I don't have easy access to. Is the 08/09 the same frame as the 2010? I could probably get the 2010 at the dealer but he might not have the 08/09. Do you think a small frame guard like the orginal one I made for the Strom would be the ideal size?
BadTrainDriver
02-23-2010, 02:22 PM
2008-2009 is definitely the same...not sure if 2010 is different...as there are a few differences between 0809-10...just not sure about frame.
What I would like is the frame guards where your feet go...just like the original ones you speak of.
2010's are hard to come by right now...so if you go to a dealer...you'll more than likely find an 09.
Anything for an 09 will work on 08.
I know it's tough for you to do...what I may do is work some templates for you when I get my bike.
Love you stuff Devin!!!

BTD - thanks for the info. I will try to look into it and see what I could make.
Any help you could offer on the template would be very helpful.
What about tank guards, or headlight masks? Any interest there? The Strom headlight masks have been very popular.
I am a member on: http://forum.concours.org/index.php
Maybe I should post something there to see how much interest there is. I was reluctant as I am not an active member.

Tank Guard, yes...as you sit right on the tank. BUT...there are already a few being made out of a rubberized material fom grip.
Headlights, probably not. Not much area on the new Connies headlights...unlike the V Strom.
I trust your judgment though...and anything you can do to come up with something I'm sure would sell.
Post up something on that Forum...same one Big B and I are on and see what people say. You may have someone close by who can bring a bike over for you to look at.
I'll follow your progress and throw in a good word for you!!!
