Stay away from these folks! I ordered a manual, hand guards & heated grips via the net, which I HATE, but after trying to call every 15-20 minutes for a solid 8 hours, I got nothing but a busy signal. Then, at exactly their closing time, it switched to a machine that didn't take messages. Repeat performance the next day, except I only tried 8 times. Same deal at closing time.
After I did the net thing, I heard nothing for several business days and e-mailed them. Two days later, I got reply that SOMETHING (no specifics) was on backorder. No word when to expect it. After another e-mail and 3 more days, I finally found out that the heated grips were on backorder and they may have 'em by the end of the month. So I asked them to send the stuff they DID have. No answer after another e-mail. After four more days ( and yet another e-mail), they e-mailed me back and said that the guards & manual were shipped. No tracking #, no specifics.
I figure I'll be lucky to get the heated grips by next srping. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!! Pay a little more elsewhere for much better service.

Hrm.. I didn't have quite the problems that you did. The day after I ordered I recieved an updated saying that the parts had been ordered from Suzuki and the should ship in 1-3 days. I heard nothing else for almost a week and a half. So I sent them an email asking for an update and I get a shipping notice that says your product has shipped, here is the tracking number. Coincedance? So I sent another email asking when the product was shipped because the tracking number was unavailable in UPS tracking. The responded about an hour later saying that it was shipping "today" and it should be updated "tonight".
They were fairly quick about replying to the emails. I never tried to call them though. I'm not sure what took so long for the product to ship, but my parts should be in today. I didn't have an awful experience like you did, but they were slow. I definately wouldn't be in a hurry to get parts from them.

Thanks for the info guys! I know some people don't like it when folks are critical of a web business they use, but I really wish every motorcycle forum would have a section for these types of complaints. I think the business that has something like this reported as a rare occurrence will survive and if it's a common practice then everyone will have the same experience and their business will eventually suffer.

I doubt whether my experience was entirely typical-otherwise they wouldn't still be in business! But on the same day I ordered from Oneida, I ordered some electical parts from the Eastern Beaver Company in Japan and got my order in 5 days...

I bought handguard from Oneida through the Internet and everything went smoothly.

In terms of parts availability, you can't really blame the seller if they don't have them or on backorder. However, I like most appreciate an update telling me so. While a business can't always control thier inventory, they can control thier customer service.

While I haven't ordered from them, I ordered through my dealer instead, I think any business set up on the web should make it a priority to keep customers informed. If there isn't good communication then I wouldn't want to spend my money there. It is so easy to just sent an simple email and keep customers informed.
It has been my experience that if you want rock bottom prices you have to wait. I ordered parts from these folks a while back, and they had the lowest prices that I could find. Yes to took a while to get my order, but I saved a bundle over my local dealer, and other online retailers. If your not in a hurry Oneida is a good place for OEM parts. Other good choices are MRcycles.com and ridenow.com. If your in a hurry- buy from someone who has the part in stock $$$$.

I have to agree. The cheapest places often fall down on service and communication. I've settled on Ronayers.com. They're available by phone, they answer emails and their prices are just a few percent more than the rock bottom guys. And they split orders so backordered stuff ships later at no additional charge. It's worth it to me to pay a tad more for good customer service.

If you want rock-bottom prices then don't hope for much more than that.
Take the words "good", "fast", and "cheap".
In almost any situation you can have any two you want but not all three. Personally I prefer "good" and "fast" and I am willing to pay for it.
Sure, once in a while you'll get a smoking deal on something that's handled well but generally you can only choose two of those three qualities.
