Looking for suggestions for hard side bags...
i dont want a top trunk thing cus thats where i strap my school bag to, or on longer trips, my over night bag.
i just want something big enough to put rain/winter gear in that i can lock up.
oh yeah, and i dont want to have to take out a loan to afford them (suzuki's are $900 for instance)

any and all suggestions would be awesome!
Thanks!

Have you considered a set of E21 bags from Givi? They are smaller, but large enough to put stuff in. They are also fairly cheap (compared to other hardbags.) I know there are a few stromers around that run them and really like them.

I'm running E36 sidecases on my, and I really like them. They are bulky though, but I can get a lot of stuff in them.

Check with Glen at www.sport-tour.com he has decent prices on Givi stuff.

I have the Givi E45N sidecases on my Wee Strom. They are a little wide, but you can put loads of stuff in them. Got them here http://www.cyclesaddles.com/home/Accessories/givi_monokey.htm (look all the way at the bottom of the list)for $441 with the mounts, a lot cheaper than the Suzuki cases. I was gonna get the E36s, but the E45s were only $2 more. I'll put a picture on later.

After lookin at sport tour's inventory...i think i may just bite the bullet and get side bags and a top rack. i think the e52n may even be a big enough trunk for my monolithic school bag (thats what i get for having a 17" monitor laptop). plus then i wont have to worry about anything getting stolen if i leave it on my bike.

plus if i get a delivery job in gainesville, i wont have to have a tacky milk crate tied to the luggage rack.

I have a 15inch laptop, but my case if to big to fit in the my E45NJ topcase. I really need to get a smaller bag for when I have the bike. I love being able to lock stuff in the bike.

You'll like having the bags, they are easy to take off if you don't want them on and put on if you want them.

I'm running the E21In gloss balck along with the V46 top case. The same ket that locks them closed, also locks them to teh bike. Of course being plastic they can probably be broken and removed, but not without some work.

No, not really although let be honest, they are made out of plastic and if someone want to take them they will. But not without some tools and effort.

I have a V46 top case and really like it. Taking the bag off is a snap in less then 5 seconds. Once the bag is off you have your luggage rack back.

Like I said, a little bit wide. If I go offroad I take them off, obviously.
