Anyone know someone in the DFW area that could do a seat mod?

Cash Upholstery in Carrollton. On recommendation from a couple of other folks. We have a scooter seat there now.

I just called them and they do not build up seats...he said they could take foam out and recover but could build up.

Not tickled with the seat, but figured I would just live with it (other things I want to spend money on), however, my seam (between the driver and pillion spot) is now splitting, so either have to get some duct tape, a new stock or have someone fix it. Would love to find someone local but have read about the fellow in Florida as well. Can I sneak up and take a look at whatever you end up with?

I work over at Alcatel and ride everyday...so you can come there or you can come to Mckinney. So yes, no problem at all. I will let you know when I get it back.

I just got the seat back...more than welcome to come check it out. Have not had a chance to put on just got back from visiting the family. Let me know if you want to check it out. I do not work in Plano anymore..so you would have to shoot by here or we could meet up somewhere..

Very interested to see what you've come up with. What was the final price and total mods done? Also what are your height, weight and inseam?

Not that I want to stalk you, but this seems like a reasonable alternative to a sargent or corbin.

His charge was 90. Of course you pay shipping each way. This is the top of the line option from him with the LD material for the rider and I also had the passenger portion done. Shipping was around 60 round trip. 260/6'2" 32" inseam.

Here is the info he sent me.

"For your DL the usual requests are to correct the seats angle so you are not sliding into the tank, create an actual supportive seating pocket so that you sit more in, rather than on, the seat, and a slight narrowing of the nose for a slightly easier reach and a better grip on the tank. This allows your weight to be distributed across the width of the seat, rather than concentrated in the middle. Special care is taken to relieve pressure on the crotch, especially with the angle at the front of the DL seat.

I definitely recommend the LD upgrade with the Supracor suspension for all dual sports riders sections, if for no other reason than that it takes the vibration out of the seat. It also does a lot for long distance comfort and dampens road shock. The Supracor works for the rider because it is a dynamic material with an instant rebound. It moves with you, working with your weight shifts for proper bike control. If you use a material in the riders section that "takes a set" it locks you in one position and fights against you. This is the main problem with foams as the rider is constantly moving, even while cruising the highway you are making small corrections in your weight distribution.

Pricing would be the minimum for a one piece seat, $50 for the actual work to the riders section, a $25 material charge for the Supracor suspension."

Thanks a lot, that's good info to know!

So what do you personally think about the seat differences? Well worth the money??

Let me make a suggestion...go to Wal-mart and spend the $19 on the seat pad in the auto area.

That bad?

Does it feel any different?

It improved some. It slid me back a little and my butt actually has a pocket to go to. And I could ride further without pain. But my wife and I noticed the most difference with the cushions from wally world. We did 1800 miles over to Chattanooga and back. She would not have made it without the cushion.
