In the modifications section of this db, I discussed that this forward mounted peg unit is being built by a fellow Strommer, Dan Vesel and gave contact info and a way to see pics of the unit. I ordered one last week, received mine this past Friday and installed them that evening. Easy, simple install - they bolt right on to the two smaller hex bolt mounting holes above the larger engine mounting bolt in the frame. All you need is a 6mm hex socket to install.

Today I took the Strom for a 200 mile ride to test the pegs. I am very impressed. The unit is rock solid with absolutely zero vibration. It does not interfere with cornering clearances, and its looks blend in perfectly with the black frame of my '05 Wee Strom. My knees were much more comfortable today than they have ever been before on my Strom - no knee pain at all today for the first time. The pegs also retract when not in use.

This is absolutely the best farkle I have added to my Strom. At $120 for the entire unit, it's well worth it if your knees ache when you go for long rides.

How about a picture?

If possible, I'd love to see a picture with your legs positioned on the forward pegs.

I'm looking for something that allows my legs to stretch out almost entirely (I'm 6'), and I've seen pics of this design somewhere, but I don't know if it's what I'm looking for.

phlooburoo, I would be happy to send you some photos of my highway pegs to show leg position when using them. By the way, I'm Dan, the individual that produces the highway pegs mentioned here. I'm the same height you are (6') and when the pegs are set in the third position I still have some bend at the knee, which is comfortable for me, but if you would like your legs completely straight when using them you can set your ankles on top of the pegs as I do on occasion or, and I have done this for one other person, I can change the angle very easily of the two support bars so that your legs, when on the pegs, are in a more straight position as you desire. Again, if anyone is interested in seeing photos of this item, just email me at CHERDAN@webtv.net and I'll be glad to send some pics out to you. (My web tv unit won't allow me to post pictures at the site)

Hey Dan,

Seems that you have a few different products out there, all with great review.

Could you (or someone else) post some pics of the pegs...

Thanks

I am currently working on a photo album page so that I can provide some photos and information on the Strom accessories that I produce. Hopefully this will make it a lot easier for fellow Stromies to view these items. In the meantime, I can still email information direct to you if you contact me at CHERDAN@webtv.net .

Thanks.
Dan

Dan, do you have any plans to create a set of these wonderful pegs for the BigStrom?

It's the one thing I miss on this bike, and as much touring as I do (and much more to come) I would be very interested in a pair for the DL1000. I think there are many others, both on this forum and the other one, that would be as well.

Thanks!

MonkeyGrass, I hope to be soon working with another Stromer to obtain the correct measurements and angles to put a set of highway pegs together for the big Strom. You are correct, I am starting to get quite a few inquiries from DL1000 owners for the highway pegs and a skid plate like I produce for the 650. When I get a prototype fabricated I'll be sure to mention it here.

Excellent. Everyone raves about the quality and fit of your pegs! I can't wait until you get a 1000 version out.. Better make lots of em! They are gonna be a hit.

I like the idea of useful highway pegs + frame sliders better than crashbars (err.. Engine Guards!) Hopefully, you might have some ready by springtime.. I'm planning a long trip up the BRP from NC to PA and back, and I have a feeling those pegs would make a huge difference!

Thanks for the reply. I'll be keeping my eyes and ears peeled!
