I was doing some research on the Vstrom and stumbled onto your forum.
What a fantastic asset! I've toured the eastern half of the USA on a 78 BMW R100S and totally enjoyed it. Retired my bike when my 2nd son was born. Well he leaves for college this saturday! The Vstrom is very enticeing. There is a black 1000 at my local dealer, I'll see how ready he is to get rid of the 05 model. Hopefully he will deal. Again. Great forum!

Welcome!!!!! :D Go for the Big Strom... I have mine in black, looks so good cleaned up or dirty!! If I wanted a better off road version, I would've gone with the Wee Strom.. "Nah, I like big displacement engines too much!" The only woods I'm interested taking this baby on, is the asphalt jungle. It does plenty well where other bikes would only dream of going. :wink: Can't go wrong with either bike!!!
